1. Duties and Essential Responsibilities:    o Provide a positive customer experience with fair, friendly, and courteous service.    o Resolve customer issues and answers questions.    o Register sales on Point-of-Sale system (POS) by scanning items and totaling customers’ purchases.    o Collect payments by accepting cash, check, or debit/credit card payments from customers and make change for cash customers.    o Bag purchases if needed.    o Maintain appearance of park store as needed and time allows:    o Dust shelves/wipe down glass    o Fill shelves from back stock    o Tidy shelves and displays    o Provide information pertinent to the history of and events at Fort Union Trading Post NHS.    o Demonstrate or explains use of unusual and unique products. 2.  Qualifications/Skills:    o Friendly and positive attitude    o Excellent customer service    o Excellent communication skills    o Ability to make change    o Basic math skills    o Attention to detail    o Knowledge of the history of Fort Union and Montana-Dakota region is helpful, but not necessary. Willingness to learn is important.    o Ability/willingness to upsell/recommend appropriate items is a plus.    o Experience with Quickbooks Desktop Point of Sale is helpful, but paid training will be provided 3.  Position Specification/Physical Requirements:    o The number of hours required will be approximately 8 hours per day, for the duration of Special Events (Rendezvous in June, Indian Arts in August, Living History Weekend in September, any others TBA). Events are 2-4 days long.    o Provide your own transportation to Fort Union.    o Requires ability to carry boxes and items, and maneuver through 3 levels of the Visitor Center (Bourgeois House) and park store. ​Click on the "PDF" button below to download an employment application.
