Belt Buckle

$50.00Price

In the mid-1990's, the Fort Union Association commissioned Dakota Collectibles of Mandan, ND to create a limited-edition run of 2500 belt buckles to raise funds for Fort Union Trading Post. The few remaining buckles are now available in-store and online!

The front of the buckle shows the courtyard of Fort Union, with the Bourgeois house, stables, and flagpole in view as if looking down from the southwest bastion. At the top of the buckle is "Williston, ND", around the bottom is "Fort Union."

The back of the buckle reads, "From 1829 to 1867 Fort Union Trading Post reigned supreme as the premier fur trading outpost on the Upper Missouri River. Today, a colorful saga of traders, Indians, noblemen, artists, and explorers is commemorated by the National Park Service at the Fort Union Trading Post National Historic Site, southwest of Williston, North Dakota."

Each buckle is approximately 4" long by 2.5" wide and comes ready to attach to your favorite 1.75" leather belt.
